In 2013, American Brain Tumor Association Board of Directors member and BT5K Chicago runner Brandon Starkoff and his wife, Amy, stepped up to help make a difference in the fight against brain tumors, with the launch of a new fundraiser.
Six years later, their desire to help find a cure is stronger than ever! Next month, the Starkoffs, along with committee members Katie Bishop, a brain tumor survivor and BT5K Chicago runner, and her sister, Jennie Bishop, will host the 6th annual Cater to the Cure to continue the ABTA’s mission to uncover critical answers to a disease that takes 13,000 American lives every year.
Held at the Chicago Cultural Center on January 26, 2019 from 7 to 9pm, Cater to the Cure will bring together donors, survivors and other supporters with delicious eats, music, and a silent auction. Tickets are $150 per person. Proceeds from Cater to the Cure will continue to fund critical research and patient service programs, in support of all those in our brain tumor community.
To date, this event has raised more than $300,000 for the ABTA. Most notably, Cater to the Cure provided funding for several key initiatives, including a Discovery Grant, which supports high risk, high impact projects; a Medical Student Summer Fellowship Grant; and a Basic Research Fellowship Grant.
Please join us on January 26th as we continue our fight to find a cure!
