In early 2020, as the world was shutting down, my life took an unexpected turn when I was diagnosed with a brain tumor on the left side of my brain. Although it was benign, the tumor’s impact was profound—it left me with partial facial paralysis and complete deafness in one ear. The pandemic’s isolation only added to the overwhelming numbness I felt. The world around me had changed, and so had mine, in ways I couldn’t have imagined.

With limited resources due to shutdowns, getting an MRI and beginning treatment was a struggle. But slowly, as I navigated through appointments and the early stages of recovery, I found hope. One of the turning points in my journey was discovering the benefits of advanced therapies, like those offered at the Proton Center. This specialized center became part of my healing process, giving me a targeted treatment option that respected the delicate nature of my tumor and surrounding tissue.

My journey led me to write a book, Time After Time, reflecting on the challenges, resilience, and faith that kept me moving forward. I realized that time may not stop for anyone, but the timing of life’s events can be perfect in ways we don’t always understand. This journey has been a powerful lesson in patience, acceptance, and gratitude. While the physical effects of my tumor remain, my perspective has shifted. I’ve come to understand that healing isn’t always about eliminating pain but finding peace and purpose amidst it.

Whether you’re seeking resources, support, or stories of resilience, I hope my story reminds you that there’s light even in the darkest moments, and that God’s timing, while mysterious, is always perfect.
