Breakthrough Your Way Spotlight

“In 2011, two Indiana University fraternities, Beta Theta Pi and Sigma Chi, collaborated to channel their longstanding rivalry into a healthy competition. They created the event Drop the Puck on Cancer, a hockey game that raises money to donate to cancer organizations like the ABTA. In 2013, the fraternities partnered with Collegiate Charities, a nonprofit organization that assists college students in planning and promoting charity events.

Collegiate Charities has helped bring Drop the Puck on Cancer to other universities – Northwestern University and the University of Toledo – who are driven and committed to raise money for the American Brain Tumor Association. Since its inception in 2011, the ABTA has received a total of $220,000 raised from various Drop the Puck events at Indiana University, DePaul University, Northwestern University and the University of Toledo.
